Josh Cunningham

Josh is a criminal law defence barrister practising from Niagara Lane Chambers in Melbourne and appearing in all criminal and quasi-criminal matters across Victoria and interstate.

Josh has extensive experience appearing as an advocate across a broad spectrum of summary and indictable matters. Prior to coming to the Bar, Josh practiced as a senior solicitor advocate with Victoria Legal Aid, keeping carriage of a large volume of complex indictable matters including drug trafficking, sexual offences and serious violent offences. Josh has a particular passion for youth justice, having built a significant experience defending children in the Children’s Court.

Josh also has experience in Government, having worked as a Senior Program and Policy officer with the Justice and Community Safety Directorate in Canberra.
